Ratan Naval Tata, born on December 28, in Bombay (now Mumbai), hails from one of India's most influential families. Raised by his grandmother, Navajbai Tata, he faced the separation of his parents at the tender age of ten in 1948. As the great-grandson of Tata Group founder Jamsetji Tata, Ratan was born into a legacy of industrial excellence.

Ratan Tata’s educational journey took him across continents. After completing his early schooling in Mumbai, he attended Riverdale Country School in New York City, graduating in 1955. He then pursued a degree in architecture and structural engineering at Cornell University, graduating in 1959. Later, he furthered his education by enrolling in a management program at Harvard Business School in 1975, honing the business skills that would serve him throughout his career.
